Happy New Year!

So, it's been a while since I've posted anything, and although I think it would bore you to tears, we have had a wonderful Christmas Break! We were so blessed this year and had a wonderful time with all of our families over the holidays. The kiddos got way too much, and ironically only play with the same things they did before...imagine that!
In reading your blogs about the New Year and your refelctions/resolutions, I thought I would take a moment to reflect on our year...

I was reading Captivating the other night and was touched by a verse reminding me of all the prayers that God has answered over the year that I know I haven't been good at giving Him the credit and thanks for.
He gave me the full time job that I had prayed for in order to help us financially and as a family for me to not have to be away so much. Thank you.
He kept us afloat several times throughout the year when finances were a HUGE struggle. I prayed so many times for those times to be less, and through His grace, we have been financially blessed. Thank you.
I worried so many days, as I always do about things that are huge to me, but in retrospect aren't ever THAT big. We prayed for direction with Maclaine and whether to hold her back and repeat Kindergarten this year or not. We obviously chose to send her on to first grade. The Lord has given her the perfect teacher for her! She did not need to be held back, she is thriving and has made us so proud of how far she has come with all of her skills. She is a very bright little girl! Thank you.
I have struggled off and on with my fluctuating weight, while my sweet hubby never worries about his. I finally took charge this year and have been so determined to lose this weight for good. I am so proud of myself for sticking with it and how far I've come. I went from 151 pounds and this morning weighed inat 126.2!!!! That is huge for me! Thank you for that determination and success.
I have also been running and am amazed at how my body can hang in there. I have purchased a wonderful pair of running shoes fit just for my feet and WILL run in a race of some sort soon! I'll keep you posted, but my prayer now is to conquer this!!
We have had many ups and downs with health issues over the years...some huge and some minor. By God's grace Len, who has had migraines every day for the past 5 months, has been treated successfully by a chiropractor. I was always so skeptical about them, but he is a new person! Thank you, thank you!
Maclaine was spared over Halloween from a potentially huge injury. She was knocked down at a BGA football game and really messed up her face and also had a mild concussion. In the hospital, watching her lie there and look so bad, we were reminded of how blessed we have been to have our wonderful children placed in our lives. I know that she could have been injured so much worse and she was protected that night. Thank you.
There are so many other prayers that our Lord has answered in our lives and the lives of many of you. I really pray that this year I will keep better track of our answered prayers and give God all the glory for leading our family. I pray that we will all be richly blessed in 2009.
